Ranveer Singh On Banning Pakistani Artistes: “If Even One Soldier's Mother Believes We Shouldn't Engage Them, We Should Follow That”
On Feb 14, a terror group JeM attacked CRPF personnel in J & K’s Pulwama district. 12 days later, India responded with air strikes in Balakot. On Feb 18, FWICE and AICWA declared a complete ban on Pakistani artistes- actors, singers, musicians from performing in India.  Pakistan too has banned the release of Bollywood films in the country. Recently, Ranveer Singh, who appeared on India Today Conclave 2019, was asked if Pakistani art should be banned in India.

Responding to the query, the Gully Boy star said, "I am very cognisant that there is this school of thought that one should not mix art and sports with it, they are two different realms. But at the same time, we as artistes and sportsmen, are not sacrificing the same way that some of our compatriots are. If even one soldier's mother believes that we shouldn't engage, we should follow that."

Ranveer, who was continuously tweeting about the safe return of Wing Commander Abhinandan, added, "Today is a good day, but let's not forget what has happened recently. As far as Abhinandan goes, he is a true hero. Look at the way he conducted himself."
