Bollywood actress Rani Mukerji has made a name for herself in the entertainment industry with her versatile performances and down-to-earth personality. Ever since she debuted with the Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat in 1996, she has been a force to be reckoned with. Now, in a recent interaction, she opened up about how her family was going through a tough time because of her father, Ram Mukerji’s heart surgery during the release of her debut film.

In an interview with the news agency ANI, she recalled that her father, after his heart surgery had gone to the theatre to watch her movie. Rani revealed how her family was going through a lot when her debut film was released in theatres on 18 October 1996. Going down memory lane, she shared how her father had a very important heart surgery. Quoted by Hindustan Times, she added, “I remember him going to the theatre to watch my first film in Gaiety Galaxy. On his way back he got discharged! I remember him weeping like a child in happiness after seeing the love I received from the audience when they clapped and whistled at my dialogues.” ALSO READ: THROWBACK! The 45-year-old actress also spoke about how if she hadn’t been an actress, she might have pursued interior design as a career. She told the news agency ho, if today she had to look back she is not sure what she would have been had she not established herself as an actress. She revealed how she had some other professions in mind like being an interior designer. For the unversed, Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway is based on the real-life case with Sagarika Bhattacharya, whose kids were taken away by the Norwegian Child Welfare Services on the grounds of improper treatment. Directed by Ashima Chibber the movie was released on the big screen on March 17th.
