Randhir Kapoor DENIES Having Dementia, 'I Am Perfectly Fine'; Says, 'Ranbir Kapoor Is Entitled To Say What He Wants'
Randhir Kapoor reacts to Ranbir Kapoor's early dementia statement
Recently, while sharing Randhir Kapoor's reaction to late actor Rishi Kapoor's last film 'Sharmaji Namkeen', Ranbir Kapoor had said that his uncle is in the early stages of dementia. However, Randhir Kapoor has denied having dementia. The veteran said that he is perfectly fine. Speaking to ETimes, Randhir said, "Aisa kuch nahi hua. Not at all. I am perfectly fine. I just had COVID sometime ago."
When he was asked about Ranbir's claims, he said, "Ranbir ki marzi, he is entitled to say what he wants."
In case you don't know, Ranbir told NDTV, "My uncle Randhir Kapoor, who is going through an early stage of dementia, and he came to me after the film and said, 'Tell dad that he is amazing, and where is he, let's call him'. Art crosses boundaries of medical conditions... And a good piece of storytelling really embodies that." Reacting to this, Randhir Kapoor told ETimes, "I never said that. I am alright. In fact, I have just returned from Goa with Rahul Rawail. We were there at the Goa festival."
The veteran actor went on to share that he liked Rishi Kapoor's performance in Sharmaji Namkeen. "He was a very good actor," said Randhir.
Sharmaji Namkeen is directed by Hitesh Bhatia. Paresh Rawal stepped in to complete the portions that Rishi Kapoor could not. Rishi Kapoor passed away in 2020. The movie also stars Juhi Chawla and Suhail Nayyar. It is produced by Farhan Akhtar, Ritesh Sidhwani and Abhishek Chaubey. Sharmaji Namkeen released on Amazon Prime Video on March 31.
