After a long absence on the big screen post his last release, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani last summer, Ranbir Kapoor will be all over 2015. Following the blockbuster hit in 2013, the actor immersed himself in several interesting projects, and two years later, is ready to hit the cinema halls with not one or two, but four movies.
While he will still be shooting for Imtiaz Ali’s Tamasha in Delhi for three months, his much-awaited venture with Vicky Singh titled Roy will open in cinemas on February 13. The actor has a smaller part than Arjun Rampal and Jacqueline Fernandez in the film, but its still a treat for his fans who can enjoy it through the Valentines Day weekend.
Next in order is Bombay Velvet. Anurag Kashyaps magnum opus love story with Anushka Sharma and Ranbir playing a jazz singer and street fighter respectively, will open on May 15, bang in the middle of the IPL matches. The producers are confident that it will remain unaffected by the cricket season. The six-months of VFX work that delayed the film, is turning out to be excellent.
Finally, the surprise packet, Jagga Jasoos that has changed more release dates than any other Ranbir film, has managed to seal a date with its audience. The film, according to online reports, will not release in May, but on August 28 - two weeks after Shah Rukh Khans film Fan hits the theatre. Anurag Basu, the films director and co-producer, has been given a diktat that he must complete the film well in advance, so it can be marketed well.
Lastly, Ranbir will close the year with Tamasha, which opens on Christmas with other films like ajirao Mastani and Brothers. That will be a face-off of Ranbir-Deepika and Ranveer-Deepika and Akshay Kumar-Sidharth Malhotra-Jacqueline Fernandez.
