The much-anticipated film "Ramayan," starring Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi, is set to resume shooting in August 2024 in Mumbai. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film's production involves an ambitious plan to construct 12 lavish sets to recreate the ancient cities of Ayodhya and Mithila. These sets are expected to be completed by mid-August. According to a report in MidDay, the production schedule for "Ramayan" is an intricately planned blueprint spanning 350 days, covering both individual and ensemble scenes. The filmmakers aim to complete the principal photography of this two-part film by December 2025, ensuring ample time for post-production. The film is reported to be made with a budget of Rs 835 crore, making "Ramayan" the most expensive Indian film of all time. Ranbir Kapoor will portray Lord Ram, while Sai Pallavi will take on the role of Mata Sita. Media reports suggest that the film is being planned as a franchise, with the first part focusing on Lord Ram's youth, his marriage to Sita, their exile, and Sita's eventual abduction. The aim is to create a larger-than-life cinematic experience, described as a "global spectacle" by Bollywood Hungama.




Filming for "Ramayan" began in April 2024, and several pictures of the lead stars have already surfaced on social media. Reports also indicate that Yash, known for his role in "KGF," will play Ravan in the film and will co-produce it following Madhu Mantena's departure from the project. While the filmmakers have yet to make an official announcement, an announcement is anticipated soon, heightening the excitement among fans. With its grand vision and extensive budget, "Ramayan" promises to be a monumental project in Indian cinema, capturing the epic tale with unprecedented scale and detail.
