Ranbir, was ready for the shoot and dressed as Sanjay
for the scene. The film’s director Rajkumar Hirani shot for 20 minutes and
Ranbir retreated to the waiting lobby of Sanjay’s apartment complex in between
takes.
Meanwhile the noise had attracted the attention of Madhu
Poplai, secretary of the Pali Hill Resident’s Association. She walked on to the
scene and was angered by the litter spread on the road by the crew of the film.

She walked upto Hirani and told him that he cannot continue the shoot because he has not procured a permit from the association.
The situation was tense and Hirani requested that they be allowed to continue as they just needed to shoot for another 10 minutes.

Thankfully, Poplai obliged and the shoot continued.
When contacted, Poplai confirmed the story.
