An FIR has been registered against Farhan Akhtar and Ranbir Kapoor for criminal breach of trust and forgery. The complainant has alleged that they promote a shopping website that dupes customers.
Lawyer Rajat Bansal, a resident of Keshav Nagar, filed the FIR in Madiyaon Police Station. 10 km away from Mumbai. The complaint was registered under IPC sections 406 (Punishment for criminal breach of trust) and 420 (Forgery) on September 19. Even the top officials of the company have been looped into the case.
Bansal has alleged that he ordered a 40-inch LED TV from the site on August 23 and had paid Rs 29,999 through his debit card, but did not get the product within 10 days- as promised by the site's ads featuring the stars.
The lawyer has also alleged that due to the promotion of the site by Farhan and Ranbir, people fall for the site, which also sent him the bill but not the product.
