Ram Madhvani To Direct Ramayana, Phantom Films Pulls Down Its Shutters?
Neerja director and SpotboyE Salaam winner (Best Director, Critics) got a big shot in the arm. A pumped up Ram Madhvani will hold the reins of the Rs 500-crore Ramayana
This morning, you
and I woke up to read that Allu Aravind, Namit Malhotra and Madhu Mantena have
joined hands to bring the epic Ramayana on the big screen. The liveaction
feature will be a Hindi, Telugu and Tamil trilingual, being hyped as India's
most ambitious project yet with an estimated budget of Rs 500-crore. It will be
shot in 3D and released as a three-part series.
But there's lot
more which SpotboyE.com brings you EXCLUSIVELY.

The story just got BIGGER. The news that Mantena has collaborated with Allu and
Namit spells it out loud and clear that Phantom Films of Madhu Mantena,
Anurag Kashyap, Vikas Bahl (controversial) and Vikramaditya Motwane has closed
shop.

Now let us tell you,
how. First and foremost, let's take you back to the story which was broken by
us that Madhu Mantena has gone solo, soon after Vikas Bahl was accused of
sexually harrassing a colleague in his office and reportedly booted out. We
have been proved correct as Madhu is collaborating on this with two people who
were not a part of his Phantom Films.

Secondly, let's
tell you that this project- Ramayana- was originally supposed to be done by
Phantom- and one of the three, Anurag/Vikas/Vikramaditya was supposed to
captain the ship.
So, Phantom ki
dukaan bandh? Lagta toh aisa hi hai.
So now, the
million dollar question is: Who will direct Ramayana? Neerja director Ram
Madhvani. Yes, you heard it right, Ram Madhvani. There are whispers in the
industry that Madhvani had been working on Ramayana with Phantom since the past
one-and-half year.

A source says,
"Madhu and Allu are very close friends since the days of Ghajini which had
Allu as its main producer. Madhu also knows Namit since nearly 10 years. Madhu
going back to Allu and Namit clearly indicates that Madhu has dissociated
himself from the quartet."
Adds the source,
"Madhvani is very excited about Ramayana. He has been doing a lot of
research on it. He received laurels for his last film Neerja, and surely he
doesn't want to go wrong."
That's that!
