SS Rajamouli directorial RRR witnessed an unfortunate setback as it failed to emerge as India’s official entry at the 95th Academy Awards and this has netizens disappointed. Thousands of fans, who rooted for the Ram Charan and Jr NTR starrer, were left disappointed as the film failed to lead India’s Oscars 2023 nominations and they are now upset and furious with the Film Federation of India.
Soon after the Gujarati film Chhello Show was announced as India’s submission to the Oscars this year for the Best Internation Feature Film category, netizens took to the Twitter handle and expressed their disappointment over the same. While some termed it as a ‘big blunder’ a few even claimed that India is missing a ‘big opportunity’. One of the social media users also urged the FFI to re-watch the film and wrote: “Deeply saddened to hear #RRRMovie is not in #Oscars #FFI please rewatch the movie."

This incident even sparked a meme fest on Twitter and social media users also shared a throwback video of Chiranjeevi in which he can be seen talking about how only ‘Hindi cinema is projected as Indian cinema’.
Speaking of the film, RRR was released in March 2022, and it was an instant hit across the world. The film was a mega blockbuster at the box office and it earned approximately Rs 1200 crore. It was the most expensive Indian film made on a budget of Rs 550 crore.
The film features a fictional tale of Indian revolutionaries – Alluri Sitarama Raju played by Ram Charan and Komaram Bheem played by Jr NTR.
