Rakul Preet Singh, Rana Daggubati, And Other Actors Summoned In Four-Year-Old Drugs Case
Apart from Rakul and Rana, Charmee Kaur, Navdeep, Mumaith Khan, Tanish, Nandu, Tarun, Ravi Teja's driver Srinivas and an unidentified person working as general manager of F Club have also been summoned.
Actors Rakul Preet Singh, Rana Daggubati, and 10 others have reportedly been asked to depose before the Enforcement Directorate in connection with a four-year-old drugs case. A Times Of India report said the ED had summoned Rakul Preet Singh on September 6, Baahubali actor Rana Daggubati on September 8, Telugu actor Ravi Teja on September 9, and director Puri Jagannadh on September 31.
In 2017, the Telangana Excise and Prohibition Department had registered 12 cases after seizing drugs worth Rs 30 lakh. Reportedly, charge sheets have been filed in 11 cases. Apart from Rakul and Rana, Charmee Kaur, Navdeep, Mumaith Khan, Tanish, Nandu, Tarun, Ravi Teja's driver Srinivas and an unidentified person working as general manager of F Club have also been summoned.
SpotboyE.com tried to get in touch with Rakul and Rana but to no avail. "We would not like to comment on this subject. No Comments for now," said Rakul and Rana Daggubati's spokesperson respectively to SpotboyE.com.
As per the daily, the summons were issued for them to attend the hearing from September 2 till 22. The ED has also summoned the excise department that investigated the case.
An ED official, speaking to the daily, was quoted as saying, "Around 12 cases were booked by Telangana Excise and Prohibition department and 11 charge sheets were filled. Most drug traffickers around eight persons were charge-sheeted in the cases then. Most of them are lower-level drug traffickers. We have called excise officials as witnesses. Likewise, till we get evidence Tollywood celebrities will be considered as witnesses. Their names have figured in the investigation."
