Raju Shah, Financier Of 'Jab We Met' And 'Bol Bachchan', Passes Away Due To Cardiac Arrest, His Last Rites Have Been Performed -Report
Raju Shah, who passed away due to Cardiac arrest, laid to rest
Renowned Bollywood financier Raju Shah, also known as Rajubhai is no more. He passed away after suffering a cardiac arrest on Saturday night in Jammu and Kashmir's Gulmarg. Raju, along with his wife Rita, and friends, had gone to Kashmir on a vacation. He reportedly suffered a massive cardiac arrest and passed away in the hotel they were staying in. Raju was 63.
Raju was known for financing films like Jab We Met, Golmaal and Bol Bachchan. Filmmaker Govardhan Thanwani informed ETimes that his last rites have been performed at Pawan Hans in Vile Parle. The body was brought to the crematorium at 9.30 am. The funeral was attended by Raju Shah's friends - Jayantilal Gada, Parveen Shah and Rajesh Vasani. Speaking of how it happened, Govardhan said that Raju had gone to the bathroom in the hotel and when he came out, he simply collapsed. "He was rushed to the hospital but he was gone by then. They are all coming back." Raju Shah's son, daughter and son-in-law reached Gulmarg on Sunday morning.
Govardhan added that he was tested positive for COVID-19 and had to skip the vacation. When asked what prompted them to go for the holiday, he said, "Ab jo likha tha, woh hona hi tha. Aur main kya bolu?"
The report further added that Raju's son Yash had spoken to his father just 45 minutes before he collapsed after coming out from the bathroom. "I was speaking to dad just 45 minutes before it was all over," said Yash.
