Rajkumar Hirani #MeToo Controversy: Vinta Nanda Reacts, “Who Is It That Women Can Trust?”
Filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani has been accused of sexual harassment by his Sanju crew member. The woman in question has worked with him as an Assistant Director for Sanju. The complainant placed allegations against him that he sexually assaulted her over a period of 6 months between March and September 2018.

Soon after the news hit the media, Vinta Nanda has reacted to the controversy. Taking to social media, Nanda wrote, “The latest on #MeToo is so disturbing. Who is it that women can trust? Can't deal with these words anymore "At the outset, our client states that the allegations made against him are false, mischievous, scandalous, motivated and defamatory.”"

On the other hand, Rajkumar Hirani has denied all allegations made against him. In his statement, he has said, “I was completely shocked when these allegations were brought to my notice about two months back. I had suggested immediately that it is essential to take this matter to any committee or any legal body. The complainant has chosen to go to the media instead. I want to very strongly state that this is a false malicious and mischievous story being spread with the sole intention of destroying my reputation.”

The survivor has given print of text messages and emails exchanged between the two to Huffpost India. One of the mails, which were addressed to Hirani, read, “I remember forming these words on my lips - “Sir. This is wrong...Because of this power structure. You being the absolute power and me being a mere assistant, a nobody -  I will never be able to express myself to you.” In another email, the victim wrote, “My mind, body and heart were grossly violated that night and for the next 6 months.”

Talking about Vinta Nanda, well the famous '90s Television writer has accused Alok Nath of raping her 19 years ago. The writer came out in open when she posted a long note on Facebook to narrate the entire incident, a few months back. The case is still in court.
