Radhe Your Most Wanted Bhai Piracy Row: Delhi High Court Orders WhatsApp To Suspend Services Of Users Sharing Pirated Copies
Just like many movies, Salman Khan and Disha Patani starrer Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai has also fallen prey to piracy. The film which was released on May 13 on streaming platform Zee 5 was found on the pirated sites some hours later. Not just on websites, the film is also being forwarded through WhatsApp. In an interim relief against piracy, the Delhi High Court has ordered WhatsApp to suspend the service of the users who are sharing the pirated copies. According to the latest reports, a plaintiff has been filed for permanent injunction, rendition of accounts and damages for the infringement of the film.

India TV carried the Delhi High Court order that reads, “As stated in the plaint, the Plaintiff is the exclusive licensee and holder of various exploitation rights including Theatrical Rights, Satellite Rights, On-Demand Rights, etc. in and to the film, including, inter alia, the exclusive right to distribute/exhibit/release the film and/or make the film available to the public through theatrical, internet, digital and online streaming platforms/OTT platforms, Transactional Video On Demand (TVOD) etc.”

An excerpt of the statement further read, “The film was released on 13th May 2021 on the Plaintiff's digital entertainment streaming service i.e.Zee 5 for public viewing on a pay-per-view basis. Plaintiff received information that the film was victim to rampant piracy through social media platforms, including the messaging service ‘WhatsApp’."

Earlier, after the film was streaming ‘illegally’ on the pirated websites, Salman shared a statement to address the issue and called it a "serious crime". He wrote, “We offered you to watch our film Radhe at a reasonable price of INR 249 per view. Inspite of that pirated sites are streaming Radhe illegally which is a serious crime.”
