Raaj Tilak Producer Anil Suri Dies Due To COVID-19; He Was Denied Admission By Top Hospitals, Reveals His Brother
Bollywood producer Anil Suri is no more. The producer who had backed films like Raaj Tilak and Karmayogi passed away after testing positive for Coronavirus.
Another Bollywood celebrity has succumbed to Coronavirus. Producer Anil Suri is no more. He passed away at the age of 77 and he was a COVID-19 positive. As per reports, the producer who had backed films like Raaj Tilak and Karmayogi, passed away on June 4 and his last rites were performed on Friday, i.e., June 5, 2020. His brother revealed that Anil Suri was denied admission in top hospitals as there were no beds available for Coronavirus patients.
To news agency PTI, Rajivi Suri, who is also a producer was quoted saying, "He was rushed to the top hospitals, Lilavati and Hinduja, but both denied him a bed. He was then taken to Advanced Multispeciality Hospital on Wednesday night. He had COVID-19. On Thursday evening, they said something is amiss and he was put on ventilator. He died around 7:00 pm." As per reports, only four members of Suri family were allowed to attend his funeral and that too wearing PPE kits.
Earlier, the news of filmmaker Basu Chatterjee's death made it to the headlines. Rajiv Suri was the producer of Basu Chatterjee's film Manzil starring Amitabh Bachchan and Moushumi Chatterjee. On this, Rajiv stated that he lost two of his favourite people on the same day.
It was Ashoke Pandit who had confirmed the news of Basu Chatterjee's demise. He had tweeted, "I am extremely grieved to inform you all the demise of Legendary Filmmaker Basu Chatterjee ji . His last rites will be performed today at Santacruz creamation at 2 pm. It’s a great loss to the industry. Will miss you Sir. #RIPBasuChaterjee."
