Queen Director Loses Plum Endorsement Deal After Shaandaar's Failure
Here's the latest update from the world of Bollywood. We bet you wouldn't want to miss this. Read on for details... The hits just keep on coming
Shaandaar may have not made any impact whatsoever at the box-office, but it's sure having its effect on the people associated with it.
The latest person to take a hit is none other than the film's director Vikas Bahl.
Turns out, prior to the release of the Shahid Kapoor-Alia Bhatt starrer, the director had been approached by a cellphone company to endorse their brand. The product officials felt it would be a good idea to rope in a filmmaker who was on such a high- after all, Vikas had won the National Award for Queen and his Shaandaar then looked promising. We hear, the talks were fruitful and Vikas had all but signed on the dotted line.
Too bad for him, Shaandaar turned out to be a turkey at the turnstiles. With it, not only did the audience disappear but also the endorsement deal.
The film's poor run has had lots of collateral damage. We told you how it severed Shahid's friendship with the film's producer Madhu Mantena of Phantom Films (Shahid Kapoor's big fight with Shaandaar producer, ditches Masaba's b'day party, November 6).
Not just that, a disturbed Shahid headed to Sri Lanka with his wife (Shahid-Mira's Exotic Holiday In Sri Lanka!, Novmeber 7) while Alia Bhatt tried to divert her mind in UAE (Restless Alia trying to find peace in UAE, November 3).
Oh, these Fridays in Bollywood, I tell you.
