PVR Lets Loose Canteen Staff To Disturb Shah Rukh & Alia's Dear Zindagi

And these guys were literally asking for Food & Beverage Orders ALOUD in the middle of the film! Can the film's producers Shah Rukh Khan, Karan Johar and Gauri Shinde please take a note of this?

PVR Lets Loose Canteen Staff To Disturb Shah Rukh & Alia's Dear Zindagi
Sorry Shah Rukh Khan, sorry Alia Bhatt, I went to watch your Dear Zindagi for the second time yesterday (of course I had liked it when I saw it first time on Thursday nahin toh kyun jaata?) and I guess that I chose the wrong multiplex.

I went to Juhu PVR which is supposed to be 'one of the best'-  but the multiplex in question has screwed up its service so much that it became extremely difficult to concentrate and enjoy the movie.

It was a 8 pm show and by 8.30 pm, I was witness to canteen staff coming in and asking almost everyone occupying seats in the ally if they would like to place some 'Order'.

Oder? Order? Order? They ranted, and it seemed as if I was at a cricket ground in India where a cold drinks seller and an ice cream vendor keeps shouting at the top of his voice till you have heard and noticed him. But such overpowering and disturbing annoyance being spread in a theatre which is supposed to be classy, and mind you, quiet as well? What happened Juhu PVR?

No amount of Sshhhs and stares decreased the enthusiasm of the canteen guys, and some of the patrons ordered so much that the canteen guys started dancing between SRK-Alia and me for a LARGE part of the run time. Oh, those hungry pi**, I tell you!

So while I understand that they had been sent in by their Catering Manager or whatever his designation is, they completely screwed up (apologies for using this word not once but twice so far, sense my anguish and frustration at having been denied the pleasure of watching a lovely film) the film for the majority of the people who had come to enjoy it.

Everyone knows that movies and food go hand-in-hand. Exactly why that little snack pack if you have taken from home will never see the darkness of cinema hall! But who on earth has given a multiplex the right to ask their canteen staff to go inside and LITERALLY ASK for 'Orders' LOUDLY?

Not over yet, some of the hungry pi** got into long conversations with the canteen guys in specifying how much spicy and sweet they wanted their 'Order' to be!

Is this one of the after-effects of demonetisation because lesser people are heading to the Food & Beverage Counters?

God forbid if someone sitting in the middle of the row had ordered. Visualise: Pass, pass... food and/or drink reaches the required person... pass, pass the money... and then that canteenwallah comes again to return the balance amount... pass, pass the money yet again!

Add this to the umpteen orders which were accepted during the interval. The Order? Order? Order? exercise continued even in the second half. By the time the 'Order Service' ended, the film was peaking towards its climax!

At the time of exit, I was also told by a patron that he had ordered a Cappuccino at his seat and given Rs 200 to the canteenwallah in the interval, but got 'No Change' back when his cuppa arrived. As far as I know, Juhu PVR's Capuccino costs Rs 190.

Another patron walking beside me, said, "The fact that people are not watching pirated copies and coming to a multiplex like this to watch the film should be respected by the multiplex's owners. But this is sadly not happening out here."

"This 'Order-Shouting' does not happen in any other multiplex," he added.

Does 'Order-Shouting' happen in other multiplexes? Readers can share their movie-watching experiences  in the 'Comments' section below. Meanwhile, can Shah Rukh, Karan Johar and Gauri Shinde who have produced Dear Zindagi do something about this harrassment which is happening in Juhu PVR? Or will it stop after this story is published and ignorance be feigned?
