Actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas is currently on her way to India to take part in the Jio MAMI Mumbai International Film Festival, set to commence this Friday. The 41-year-old, now based in Los Angeles, shared her travel update via an Instagram Story on Thursday, expressing her excitement: "It's been a while Mumbai... Can't wait!" Priyanka captioned the image of her hand clutching her Indian passport and a boarding pass. Fans of the 'Desi Girl' are already cherishing her return to B-Town. The opening film of the festival will be "The Buckingham Murders," starring Kareena Kapoor Khan and directed by Hansal Mehta. The Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival is making a return to its physical format after a gap of three years and is scheduled to conclude on November 5. The festival is set to present a diverse selection of more than 250 films, with a special emphasis on contemporary cinema and emerging voices from South Asia. According to the event organizers, this grand gathering will showcase an impressive lineup, including over 40 world premieres, 45 Asia premieres, 70 South Asia premieres, and it will span across 13 distinct sections.
Among the highlights in its 2023 lineup are major titles such as Hirokazu Kore-eda's ''Monster,'' Bradley Cooper's highly anticipated ''Maestro,'' Anurag Kashyap's ''Kennedy,'' and Justine Triet's Cannes Palme d'Or-winning film ''Anatomy of a Fall.''
