Priyanka Chopra On Being Labelled As Scam Artiste: “Nothing Is Going To Burst My Bubble”
For the first ever, Priyanka Chopra has reacted on being labelled as “global scam artiste” and “gold digger”. This is what she has to say
Priyanka Chopra is a true star. The actress has worked really hard to reach where she is right now. After dating for two months, Priyanka Chopra married Nick Jonas in grand ceremonies in India. The couple tied the knot in white wedding on December 1 followed by Hindu on December 2. When the actress started posting her happy pictures with husband Nick, she started getting trolled for wearing chooda and sindoor. Not only this, she soon after their wedding, a long article labelling the Quantico actress as “global scam artiste” and “gold digger” had gone viral but the actress had never reacted on the same until now.
Now for first time, Priyanka, while in a conversation with Sunday Times, was asked about that article published by a renowned publications. The actress reacted how she and her family felt at that time. She told Sunday Times, “I didn't comment on it at the time. But I went up to the hotel room to find Nick, Joe, Sophie Turner and my mum furiously responding to the article on their phones. They were like, 'These b*******! How dare they?' I thought, 'I'm having a great moment, nothing is going to burst my bubble'."
Further, the actress also opened up about the criticism she often receives for putting up photos with Nick on social media. She told the publication, "If I wasn't a famous person and I'd just got married, don't you think my Instagram would have photos of me and my husband? Just because I'm famous, don't I have the ability to be proud of being a newlywed without people saying that I'm using my marriage? I gave up my right to privacy when I became a public person, it's the deal you make with the devil. But trust me, there are lots of things I still keep personal.”
On the work front, Priyanka will make her Bollywood comeback with Shonali Bose’s The Sky Is Pink which also stars Farhan Akhtar and Zaira Wasim.
