Priyanka Chopra And Rajkummar Rao Start Prepping For The White Tiger; Duo Share Pictures From Their Reading Session
A while back, Priyanka Chopra and Rajkummar Rao shared a few pictures on social media from their read session for Netflix original The White Tiger
Bollywood’s powerhouse performers Priyanka Chopra and
Rajkummar Rao are teaming up for Netflix original series The White Tiger. Based
on the Aravind Adiga's award-winning novel The White Tiger, it will be directed
by Ramin Bahrain and is backed by Mukul Deora and Priyanka Chopra as well. The
film is expected to go on floors in October 2019 in India. But before the shoot
begins, Rajkummar Rao and Priyanka Chopra had a small reading session for the
film, this afternoon.
Taking to their respective social media handles, Priyanka and Rajkummar Rao shared a few pictures from the reading session. Expressing his excitement, Rajkummar Rao said he can’t wait to start shooting for the film with Priyanka Chopra. Peecee captioned the video, “Day 1 table read for #TheWhiteTiger with this incredibly talented team #RaminBahrani @rajkummar_rao @gouravadarsh! Can’t wait for shoot!!! @netflix @netflix_in” while Raj wrote, “Can’t wait to start #TheWhiteTiger with these supremely talented people. @priyankachopra #RaminBahrani #AdarshGourav #MukulDeora @netflix @NetflixIndia”
Talking about The White Tiger, Priyanka had earlier said in
a statement, “I'm so excited to work with Ramin Bahrani and Netflix to bring
Aravind Adiga's poignant story to cinematic life. When I read the book, I was
fascinated with the perspective of the narrative. The story's portrayal of raw
ambition and the extent one will go to achieve one's goals is riveting. I look
forward to filming this in India this fall and also working along with
Rajkummar Rao for the first time and the wonderful cast Ramin is putting
together.” While Rao said, “It's an exciting time for actors today and I'm
thrilled to be a part of such a world-class project. I've been an admirer of
Ramin's work and am excited to see The White Tiger come to life with Netflix!”
We definitely cannot wait for this new pair to create magic on the digital space!
