A lot of Bollywood celebrities have opened up about facing casting couch in the film industry. In the past, actors such as Zareen Khan, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Vidya Balan, and many others recalled horrific casting couch stories. Now, actress Prachi Desai recently revealed that she was asked for sexual favours in exchange for a role in a ‘big film’, which she refused. She also revealed that the director called her even after she turned down the offer, again to be refused
Prachi had made her small screen debut in 2006 in the show Kasamh Se, in which she starred opposite Ram Kapoor. From there in she transitioned into movies in 2008 starring in movies like Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai, Bol Bachchan and Azhar. In a recent interview with Bollywood Bubble she said, “I think very direct propositions were made to get cast in a certain film, a big film, but I have outright said no. Even after that director has called me, after saying no, I have still said that I am not interested in your film.”
Prachi was recently seen playing the role of a police officer in Silence... Can You Hear It? The movie released on Zee5 last month and starred Manoj Bajpayee, Arjun Mathur and Sahil Vaid.
Meanwhile, in another interview, Prachi Desai opened up about her marriage plans and said that she loves her independence too much to give it up for marriage at this point in time. While speaking to ETimes, Prachi said, “My parents have brought me up in such a way that I never saw marriage as a safety net or as something I would do if my career slowed down for a bit or something didn’t work out.”
