Pooja Bhatt Completes Two Years And Ten Months Of Sobriety, Writes On 'Battling Your Demons & Grappling With Addiction Issues'

On October 23, Pooja Bhatt completed two years and 10 months of sobriety. Many a time, Pooja Bhatt had been vocal about being an alcoholic. Back in April 2018, Pooja Bhatt was trolled mercilessly for tweeting about Amitabh Bachchan, who had refrained from commenting on the Kathua and Unnao rape cases. Netizens had called her druggie and alcoholic. Pooja who never learned to stay quite had shot back at them and had called herself ‘proud recovering alcoholic.’

As the actress and filmmaker is inching closer to completing 3 years of sobriety, Pooja took to social media and penned a heartfelt note about it. Sharing a couple of pictures, Pooja wrote, “Two years & ten months sober today.. time to reflect on the past & absorb the now.. Kal Kisne Dekha after all? To any and all of you who are battling your demons & grappling with addiction issues, know that you’re not alone. If I could do it, you can too. And if you flounder or fall, pick yourself up and keep going.. the rewards are multiple in more ways than one! #sobrietyrocks #onedayatatime #onestepatatime #beyourownhero #staypositive #stayvulnerable #staystrong” (Sadak 2: Alia Bhatt Shares Her Priceless Moments From The Sets With Big Sister Pooja Bhatt)

In 2016, Pooja Bhatt came clean about her alcohol addiction. While speaking to a section of media, Pooja had said, “Luckily, I pulled the plug before it became impossible for me to stop. I’m in the pink of health except for the weight I put on because I’m now a stressful producer. But being the daughter of an alcoholic makes you four times more susceptible to becoming one. I was 45 and if I wanted to give myself 10 years of living, I had to quit now before I drank myself to the grave. I had to reclaim the sharper, brighter me which had got watered down.”
