PM Narendra Modi Shares Kailash Kher's Tweet; Singer Sona Mohapatra Reminds Him That Kher Is A #MeToo Accused Predator
Singer Sona Mohapatra has been standing in support of many women since the #MeToo movement started in the country. The singer has been bashing accused Indian celebrities openly in order to support the women who have faced troubles. As the country is currently fighting against the deadly COVID-19 pandemic, Sona took to her social media to share a piece of advice for PM Narendra Modi reminding him about #MeToo accused Kailash Kher after he shares a tweet lauding the efforts of Indian singers.

On Twitter, PM Narendra Modi shared a tweet made by Kailash Kher along with a video. The tweet read, “Excellent gesture! Kudos to the artists for coming together for this. It would be a treat to listen.” In the tweet, PM Modi praised the efforts taken by all the singers coming together for the video and mentioned it would be a treat to listen to. On the other hand, sharing a teaser video of the upcoming song, Kailash Kher tweet spoke about how 18 artists come together to support #PMCaresFund in an #ISRA initiative titled Sangeet Setu which will be live from April 10th – April 12th on major OTT and D2H platforms at 8-9 PM.

As PM Narendra Modi called Kailash Kher’s tweet and the initiative an excellent gesture, Sona Mohapatra took to her Twitter and tweeted, “PM Sir, it is indeed the time for everyone to come together in this period of crisis to unite, help others, fight but please note that the ‘artist’ whose tweet u chose to share is a multiple accused @IndiaMeToo predator & doesn’t wash always his sickness. #WomenMatter? @smritiirani.” In the tweet, Sona explained that it is indeed the time of everyone to come together and unite, help other, fight, but reminded PM Modi that the artist whose tweet he chose to share is a multiple #MeToo accused predator. Referring to Kailash Kher in her tweet, Sona went on to also talk about how just by doing something during the times of crisis does not wash away everything he has done.

Meanwhile, Sona Mohapatra expressed her viewpoint and continues to stand in support of women. The singer also tagged Minister of Textiles, Smriti Irani and mentioned how women matter.
