Pippa: Makers Of Ishaan Khattar's War Drama Issue Apology After AR Rahman’s Version Of Nazrul Islam's Song Faces Backlash
Days after A R Rahman's rendition of Kazi Nazrul Islam's poem "Karar oi louho kopat" stirred controversy, the makers of Pippa clarified their artistic approach. The film, set during the 1971 India-Pakistan war, features a sincere interpretation of the iconic poem, with the team emphasizing their deep respect for the original composition and securing necessary adaptation rights.

Despite claims by the poet's grandson about changing tunes and rhythm without permission, the filmmakers express their intent to pay homage to the cultural significance of the song while adhering to the terms of the license agreement. Producers acknowledge the subjective nature of art and apologize if their version has inadvertently caused distress to the sentiments associated with the revered creation by Kazi Nazrul Islam.
