Parineeti Chopra’s Joota Churai Mystery Solved: Here’s What Priyanka Chopra’s Sisters Got From “Jiju” Nick Jonas
During Priyanka Chopra’s wedding, reports claimed that Parineeti and the cousin gang took a heavy amount as joota churai from jiju, Nick Jonas. But, now comes out the real story from the horse’s mouth, about what Nick actually gave PeeCee’s sisters
It’s been over a month since Priyanka Chopra- Nick Jonas tied the knot (Dec 1 and 2) but still the Internet is flooded with their various ceremonies’ pictures and updates. Looks like fans are not getting enough of it. Not just fans, but sister Parineeti too is revisiting memories often.
Parineeti Chopra, who was one of the bridesmaids at PeeCee’s wedding, recently appeared on Neha Dhupia’s chat show Vogue BFFs with Tennis star Sania Mirza.
According to a report in Mid-Day, the actress during the chat divulged some inside details of the wedding- one of them being what jiju, Nick gave his saalis as joota churai- an Indian ritual where bride’s sisters hide the groom’s shoes and then demand gifts in return.
You may recall there were reports flying that Parineti and the gang of cousins received a heavy amount in return of Nick’s shoes. However, Parineeti rubbished the reports. And now, on the chat show, Pari has revealed what the sisters actually received from Nick.
The Namastey England actress has said that they had planned to extort money from their jiju, but Nick Jonas played smart as he told his boys to bring a plate of sparkling diamond rings for each of his saalis and that’s where the deal closed.
You may recall, after the wedding festivities, Parineeti Chopra had shared a few pictures on social media from their Sangeet night, and had spilled the beans over which team had won the dance face-off at the Sangeet. She had captioned the pics as, “For our SANGEET, the Chopra family decided to depict Mimi didi and Nick’s love story though songs, scenes and skit - full bollywood style!!! The whole family rehearsed for days and days. And were ready to beat the Jonas side hollow!!! But when the ladka wallas came on stage, they stumped us. They had been rehearsing for a long time. They sang and danced LIVE, including lip syncing hindi songs!!!!!! Damn, we should have known. All of this - but the spirit of competition was overpowered with love, happiness, laughs, whistles, cheering and noise!!! Wow wow wow. WHAT A NIGHT. P.S. We shared the trophy”
