The whole nation knows that Padmavati has fallen prey to innumerous controversies since its inception. To begin with, Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has declared that his government would not allow release of the historical drama in the poll-bound state. "There is a lot of sensitivity in Kshatriya and Rajput communities with regards to certain depiction of history. We respect their feelings and with elections on the anvil, the state government does not want any controversy. Besides that the law and order is also our responsibility, so we have decided that we will not allow release of movie 'Padmavati' in Gujarat," said the Gujarat CM.
Not just that, due to strong condemnation from the Karni Sena, the film’s release date has been pushed further. The Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial was initially scheduled to release on December 1, 2017. However, the release date of the film has been pushed to February 2018 now. SpotboyE.com was the first one to tell you that the film is likely to release on February 14, 2018.
Starring Ranveer Singh, Shahid Kapoor and Deepika Padukone, the film revolves around the majestic Rani Padmini.
