On Her Sister Sujata Kumar's Death, A Man Thinks 'Suchitra Krishnamoorthi Has Died'! He Texts Her, 'Kavita, Be Bindaas'!

We have many morons in our midst. One of them crossed all limits yesterday when he shot a condolence (I mean, that's what he thought he was doing) message to Suchitra Krishnamoorthi saying: "Dear Kavita, so sorry for the loss of ur sister Suchitra, read it in the papers. Yes, be bindaas." For those who've come in late, Suchitra lost her sister Sujata Kumar on Sunday. Sujata was suffering from metastatic cancer 4TH stage and died at Lilavati Hospital (Bandra) on Sunday.

Sabse pehle, mistaken identity. The man thought that Suchitra has died (was he blind if he had 'read' the papers?) and that the playback singer Kavita Krishnamurthy is her sister! Worse still, he messages Suchitra (who is supposed to be dead according to him) calling her Kavita!! And, 'be bindaas' on the death of a near and dear one? What punishment can be meted out to such nincompoops, anyone please?Suchitra rightfully gave it back to him, but keeping her tongue in leash. She responded: "Dear Moron, Thank you for making me laugh. My first laugh in two weeks. Take care." Can you beat that? Height of inertia, callousness and nonchalance! It's obviously a classic case of today's times when we are all in a hurry to only make statements on social media and have no time to read and/or reflect on what is actually happening around us. These mobile phones, Facebook accounts, Twittter handles, Instagram platforms, what have they made of us? How much will we dance on them with our ears, eyes and minds shut?

When asked, Suchitra chose to not reveal the name of the dumb guy, who definitely needs a rap on his knuckles for applying his messed up brain in such an innovative and insensitive manner.

sujata kumar
When the 3 ladies- Sujata, Suchitra and Kavita got intertwined, regardless of the difference in the spelling of their surnames- Krishnamoorthi for the first two and Krishnamurthy for the third

Sujata, who was also an actress like her sister, made a very impressive comeback in English Vinglish directed by Gauri Shinde, where she played Sridevi's sister. She was a cancer survivor, but the Big C resurfaced in her this year. Post English Vinglish, she was seen in Kangana Ranaut starrer Raanjhanaa and Kareena Kapoor starrer Gori Tere Pyar Mein, followed by Anil Kapoor's TV show 24. May her soul rest in peace.
