Further, the ‘Lunch Box’ actress described her experience with the airlines and mentioned that one bag she received was in damaged condition while another bag is still missing. She added, “My journey from Mumbai was scheduled back from Detriot on the morning of August 22nd. After an utterly exhausting ordeal of nearly 40 hours of canceled and delayed flights due to unprecedented circumstances, I landed in Mumbai without both my checked in bags. Despite multiple assurances between Detroit, Paris, and Dubai airports about the luggage being in place, one bag continues to remain untraceable. That one that did finally arrive came bashed and damaged as if it had been tried to broken into.” Nimrat even shared pictures of the damaged bag.
She further added, “The shock and horror of this ongoing experience aside, I shudder to think if this sort of violation is possible with a passenger or a supposed privileged travel profile and access, what is even going on elsewhere. Not only am I mentally and physically exhausted with this 90-hour and counting, thoroughly disorienting ordeal, I am at my wits end with how this matter will be resolved and the overall harassment dealt with"
Responding to the Tweet, Delta Air Lines tweeted, “Thank you for your patience. Our Baggage office is currently closed. They are open between the hours of 6 AM - 11:30 PM ET, 7 days a week. I will be transferring our full conversation to a Baggage representative who will be happy to assist you within their operating hours.” Further, one of the members from the Baggage Service Center replied saying, “Hi! This is Maria in the Delta Baggage Service Center. We are very sorry to learn about the inconvenience caused. May I have your file reference number? Please send in a DM and I will be more than happy to assist anyway I can.”
