Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, to ensure social distancing, many theatres and cinema halls were shut down during the lockdown in the country. It was recently in the Unlock 5.0 guidelines that the Centre announced that movie theatres are allowed to re-open from October 15, onwards, across the country. With the makers of Sushant Singh Rajput’s film Kedarnath releasing the movie in theatres, netizens bash the move on social media. The social media users took to Twitter to trend ‘Kedarnath’. Many social media users are trending ‘Kedarnath’ on Twitter, bashing the makers of the film. The users expressed their disappointment over the release of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s film and demanded that no one goes to the theatres to watch the film.

One social media user wrote, “Shame on #AbhishekKapoor #PragyaYadav for trying to monetize our Gulshan’s death by releasing #Kedarnath in theatres now! Unless the money from ticket sales 100% go to SSR Foundation, we are not going to watch the movie in theatres. #ShameOnBollywood #AshamedOfBollywood.” The social media user criticized the makers for trying to monetize actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s demise by releasing Kedarnath and said that SSR warriors are not going to watch the movie in theatres.  Another fan of SSR went on and wrote, “#Kedarnath SSR is not getting paid after releasing it in theatres again. So what's the point in watching it!!”







As netizens continued to express their disappointment over the decision of the makers regarding Kedarnath’s release, one fan also called the movie ‘best movie’ and mentioned how he is happy that is re-releasing. Meanwhile, Kedarnath released in 2018 and starred late actor Sushant Singh Rajput and Sara Ali Khan in pivotal roles. The film marked the Hindi film debut of Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh’s daughter Sara Ali Khan. Directed by Abhishek Kapoor, Kedarnath released in theatres on December 7, 2018.
