Netizens, Janhvi Kapoor In Dostana 2 Is Not Nepotism
Am baffled that why are netizens (really the term is so apt, they live only in the Internet space where anybody and everybody is just running down each other) angry that Janhvi Kapoor has been cast in Dostana 2 and terming it as nepotism? Did they get a similar feeling when Abhishek Bachchan was cast in the first part of Dostana (2008)? Well, Facebook (2004) and Twitter (2006) were not densely populated then. So frankly, these feelings didn't even arise. But that's not the point, guys. The point is why is Sridevi and Boney Kapoor's daughter's casting in Karan Johar's Dostana 2 being labelled as nepotism?

What wrong is Karan Johar doing by casting Mahesh Bhatt's daughter? Isn't she gifted?  And isn't this the same Karan Johar who cast Tara Sutaria who is not any celebrity's daughter.

Think of it, in that case, why is nobody blaming Raj Kapoor for being one of the pioneers of setting up the trend of casting his sons, Rishi Kapoor, Randhir Kapoor and Rajeev Kapoor? Why is nobody blaming Aamir Khan for Imran Khan's debut in Bollywood? Neither Raj Kapoor nor Aamir Khan did any wrong in jetting what they felt was talent. Surely, they didn't prevail upon the janta to accept all of them. That Rajeev Kapoor and Imran Khan had hiccups in their rides is known, right?

Similarly, Dharmendra did no wrong in launching Sunny Deol. Didn't we enjoy almost every Sunny movie? And surely, filmmakers are not signing up Shraddha Kapoor because she is Shakti Kapoor's daughter?

Why is Vicky Kaushal not a product of nepotism? How do you know that Bollywood is not helping him because they owe it to his father Shyam Kaushal who risked his life literally doing/teaching them stunts? Now come on, I never said that Vicky is not talented. Like Alia, Vicky is also gifted. Like Vicky, Chunky Pandey's daughter Ananya is also gifted; she did a reasonably good job in Student Of The Year 2 which was produced by none other than Karan Johar. And don't forget that Vicky landed in your face with not Masaan but Raazi which was also produced by Karan Johar.

I am just amused the way people lash out at Karan Johar. By the way, Ananya did a far better job than Tara in SOTY 2 than Tara- while most of us had felt from the promos that Tara will outdo Ananya.

I can't help laughing. Is Saif also a result of nepotism?

The bigger picture is that it's time we get fed up of the word nepotism and strike it off from Bollywood dictionaries.

It's just that it has become very crowded out there as 2019 finds several kids of Bollywood families having come of age. But, but, but... everyone from illustrious families does not find it easy in Bollywood. Everyone from families of stars does not survive out here.

Do you really need me to name all those guys and gals who've struggled big time despite having all the contacts, including that of Karan Johar and his company Dharma Productions? The list does not comprise of only Rajeev Kapoor and Imran Khan, it has many names.

Guys, Janhvi Kapoor impressed in Dhadak. For most of those who thought otherwise were perhaps immersed in comparing the film with Sairat.

The grass is always greener on the other side. Let's instead welcome Dostana 2.
