Neil Nitin Mukesh: ‘I Am Open To Doing Web Shows, But They Have To Be Up To The Standards, With Me As The Lead As I Won’t Compromise On Those Things’-EXCLUSIVE
It has been a while since Neil Nitin Mukesh was last seen on the big screen. He had two releases in 2019—Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor-starrer Saaho and Bypass Road, which he also produced. Since then, Neil hasn’t returned to the big screen. The Covid pandemic and the subsequent lockdown also played a huge role in that.

However, the actor used that time to work on his writing and has completed three scripts in the lockdown that he is now working on taking to the floors. Neil was supposed to start work on his next acting project in September last year after the first lockdown, but things didn’t go as planned. “That got indefinitely pushed due to the unfortunate lockdown hanging over the head,” he informs.

But that indeed gave him more time to work on his own productions. “Thankfully, there is some movement on the production front now. We are just contemplating on what is the best time to invest in business again. Two of the scripts that I had written have gained a little momentum and the pre-production is in full swing. Actors have been spoken to, but to take the film on floors, we would wait a little longer considering the fear of the third lockdown looming over our head. Within the next month, we would be deciding on when to start,” he shares.

As for his acting projects, Neil has many offers for that too. “Offers are galore but I don’t want to compromise on quality. I don’t want to do work just for the heck of it. I am open to doing web shows, but they have to be up to the standards, with me as the central lead as I won’t compromise on those things. If the content is direct-to-OTT, it has to be all the better. There are two other films that I am in discussion for, and hopefully they will all happen soon as it has been a while since my last film. I am also very eager to come back on screen,” he concludes.
