Neena Gupta On Her Auto-Biography ‘Sach Kahun’: I Don’t Think I‘d Have Written It If My Parents Or Brother Were Alive
Veteran actress Neena Gupta recently launched her autobiography titled ‘Sach Kahun Toh: Meri Aatmakatha’, where she made some major revelations. Right from divulging details of her personal life to addressing professional issues such as casting couch, film industry politics, etc, the book gives an insightful view of her struggles and stairway to success. Now, in a recent interview, Neena Gupta has said that she would not have written her autobiography if her parents or brother were alive.

While speaking with ETimes, Neena spoke of how her father had two full families and he would juggle between the two. He would spend the night with the other family and even divide vacation days between the two. She was quoted saying, “My mother killed herself trying to hide what my father did to her. I think that is why I have written this book when my father, mother, brother, and bhabhi (sister-in-law) are no more. I don’t think I‘d have written it if my parents or brother were alive. I think that was also one reason that I could write now.”

The actress also admitted that the chapters on the death of her mother, father, and brother, were very difficult to write. “Sometimes I’d write one page and after that, I would not write for a week. While certain things went very smoothly, with these chapters I had a lot of problems,” she confessed.

The senior actress also revealed that it was during the pandemic when she was in her Mukteshwar house for around six months, she suddenly, started to write, and then she didn’t stop.

Neena's autobiography ‘Sach Kahun Toh: Meri Aatmakatha’ was released on 14 June this year. Also Read: Masaba Masaba Season 2: Masaba Gupta Announces A Wrap; Calls It 42 Days Of Laughs, Tears, Anxieties, And Pure Happiness
