Bollywood’s versatile actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui has made a name for himself in the entertainment industry. Over the years, he has established himself as a credible actor by portraying varied roles in movies. From grey-shade characters to loveable characters he has proved that talent matters more than looks. Having received accolades from all across the country for his performances, he recently opened up about his initial days and recalled how he was insecure about his dark complexion.

During an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Nawazudding revisited the past. He shared how there was a period of time in his life when he considered himself a not-so-good-looking actor which led him to feel insecure and underconfident due to skin colour. He went on to add how he even applied fairness creams to change his complexion but to no avail. Quoted by Bollywood Shaadis, he added, “Later, I realised it is what it is. I believed for a long time that I am not a good looking guy. But when I went out then I realised that I am okay, my face is fine. It is very important to be confident about the way you look. In the same interview, the 49-year-old actor also shared his views on being considered an unconventional actor. He explained how it took him around 10-12 years to establish himself as an actor. He added how the distinction between conventional and unconventional looks will always be there as people have “certain perception and image in their mind.” Calling it a struggles, he said that it will always be there.

On the work front, Nawazuddin Siddiqui was last seen in movies like Haddi and Tiku Weds Sheru. Both projects were released on OTT. He has many other projects in his pipeline.
