Mr India 2: Sonam Kapoor Blasts The Makers For Not Consulting Anil Kapoor; Says 'It's Part Of His Legacy'
Mr India starring Anil Kapoor and late actress Sridevi directed by Shekhar Kapur is one of the greatest films that have been ever made in the history of Indian cinema. People loved that movie and even today, Mr India holds a special place in everyone's heart. All the movie buffs rejoiced as Ali Abbas Zafar announced the remake of this iconic film. He along with Zee Studios has taken up the charge to turn Mr India into a trilogy. However, it seems Shekhar Kapur and Sonam Kapoor are not happy with it.

Sonam took to Twitter this morning to slam the makers of the second instalment and stated that they should have consulted her father Anil Kapoor and filmmaker Shekhar Kapur first before making the big announcement. In her tweet, she wrote, "A lot of people have been asking me about the MR. India remake. Honestly my father didn’t even know the film was being remade, we found out about it through social media when @aliabbaszafar tweeted. It’s quite disrespectful and underhanded if it is true, since no one bothered to."

In the next tweet, she continued, "consult my father or Shekhar uncle, two people who played a major role in making the film what it was and is. It’s sad because that was a film made with heart and hard work and is very sentimental to my father, beyond commerce and announcements, it’s a part of his legacy."

We await Ali Abbas Zafar's reply on the same. Earlier it was Shekhar Kapur who had expressed his disappointment. He had tweeted, "No one has even asked me or mentioned to me about this film called Mr India 2. I can only guess that they using the title to get a big weekend. For they cannot use the characters/story without  permission from the original creators of the film."
