Moushumi Chatterjee’s Maid Arrested For Stealing Gold From Actress’ House
Moushumi Chatterjee’s house help, Sunita, has been held for a case of theft. The actress, who was out of Mumbai last week, returned a few days back to find that a gold bangle, worth a lakh and of great sentimental value, is missing from her house in Khar West. She had filed a police complaint at Khar Police station on Thursday about the robbery. It took the police 24 hours to solve the case and nab the maid.

According to Times Of India, police said that the house was accessed by four house helps (three of them female) in her absence. The report further states: “When the police started making inquiries with all the helps, they found one of the maids, Sunita, had not reported to work on Thursday. She would usually come in around 8am and leave by 6pm. The police sent a constable to Sunita’s house at Santa Cruz West but she wasn’t home. Police then inquired with local residents. They learnt Sunita had gone to a jeweller. She was nabbed before she could sell the stolen bangle.” Sunita has been booked under section 381 of IPC (theft by clerk/servant of property in possession of the master).

Officials also said that Sunita was working with Chatterjee since a decade and the actor trusted her a lot. Sunita is said to have told the police she never imagined the theft would be detected as she had only picked up one ornament.
