Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar is currently on a winning spree. Not only is the audience eagerly waiting for the release of his much-awaited franchises Hera Pheri 3 and Welcome 3, which was announced a few days ago, but he also made a smashing comeback at the box-office with OMG 2, co-starring Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam. The actor is currently on cloud nine as the teaser of his upcoming movie ‘Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue’ is being received well by the netizens.

Based on the inspiring life of the late Shri Jaswant Singh Gill, co-starring Parineeti Chopra, the movie is the late engineer’s biopic. As soon as the teaser was released on Friday, netizens went gaga over the little snippet of the movie. The internet started buzzing with excitement so much so that the teaser crossed 40 million views within 24-hours. To add to that fans have been trending #MissionRaniganj on YouTube and Twitter in Top 5 trends. Fans have been showering the teaser with love and admiration. It is to be noted that Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue is the third collaboration between Akshay and Jaccky Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh’s Pooja Entertainment. After giving hits like Bell Bottom and Cuttputlli, they are all set to entertain the audience with the Tinu Suresh Desai directorial. For the unversed, the actor and the director have worked together before for the movie Rustom. Talking about the movie, born on November 22, 1939, in Amritsar, the late engineer played a significant role in rescuing miners trapped inside a flooded coal mine in Raniganj, West Bengal. Out of 220 miners, six miners died on the spot. Gill jumped to the rescue of the remaining 65 in a six-hour-long, dangerous ordeal. He passed away in November 2019 and is survived by his wife and four kids. He was awarded Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak by the then president, Ramaswamy Venkataraman. A chowk in Majitha Road, Amritsar, is also named after him.

Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue is directed by Tinu Suresh Desai and produced by Pooja Entertainment. The edge-of-the-seat drama is set to release on the big screen on October 6.
