#Metoo: Case Against Anu Malik Closed, Sona Mohapatra Reaches Out To Smriti Irani: ‘Shouldn’t Anu Malik Be Called For Enquiry?’
Yesterday it was reported that the National Commission of Women (NCW) had closed #MeToo case against Anu Malik due to lack of communication/substantial evidence sought from the complainant - Sona Mohapatra. Now Sona has slammed NCW and sought Union Minister Smriti Irani’s help
This is untrue @NCWIndia @sharmarekha. I have sent all reports collated, tried calling you & responded to all mails despite travelling. The commission has been cryptic, all mails one liners & I can only imagine how you would treat a woman in deep distress. https://t.co/cZyQ9GBqDX

& now finally after more than 2 months of the matter & me formally lodging a complaint, the NCW called me to even hear me out. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

I don’t know why it took them so long to make a perfunctory call. Isn’t the NCW set up to at least listen to women seeking help @smritiirani ji? After sharing multiple testimonies of assault & harassment, formally, shouldn’t Anu Malik be called for an enquiry, investigation? https://t.co/xsCtLjbToP

When Mumbai Mirror had contacted Rekha Sharma, chairperson of NCW, she had said that it was not a permanent closure of the case. “If the complainant comes forward or brings more evidence or submits any kind of document, we can reopen it,” she had said.
