Ever since making her Bollywood debut with Student Of The Year, alongside Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra, Alia Bhatt has been climbing the ladders of success not only in the Hindi film industry, but also internationally. She returned to attend the Met Gala this year and stole the limelight with her beautiful ensemble. Fans have been hailing her as ‘Indian Disney Princess’ on X (formerly known as Twitter). For those who don’t know the event was hosted at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, which was attended by well-known personalities from around the globe.

Met Gala 2024’s theme was ‘Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion’. The Gangubai Kathiawadi actress’ outfit stole the show. She even took to her official social media handle to share the details of her saree with her admirers while sharing glimpses of her on the most prestigious red carpet. Alia chose to wear a saree with a 23-foot-long train by Sabyasachi Mukherjee. The entire ensemble was intricately designed with hand-embroidered florals using silk floss, glass beading as well as semi-precious gemstones. While expressing her excitement about wearing a saree for the first time at the Met Gala, she revealed that it took “collective effort of 163 dedicated individuals, including master craftspeople, embroiderers, artists, and dyers, investing a total of 1965-man hours to create this ethereal saree.”

On the work front, Alia Bhatt will be next seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War. Co-starring Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal, the movie is set to release in Christmas 2025. She has Jigra, Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra franchise and Farhan Akhtar’s directorial Jee Le Zara alongside Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra Jonas in her pipeline. She will also be headlining YRF's spy universe as the leading first lady with an upcoming project.
