Manoj Bajpayee’s Father RK Bajpayee Passes Away At 83; Actor Travels To Delhi For Last Rites
Manoj Bajpayee’s father RK Bajpayee, who had been critical for the past few days, breathed his last at a hospital in Delhi on Sunday morning.
Padmashree awardee and actor Manoj Bajpayee’s father RK Bajpayee left for his heavenly abode on Sunday morning. He was 83. According to reports, Manoj's father’s condition had been critical for the past few days. Bajpayee, who was shooting for a film in Kerala, reached Delhi for his father’s last rites, confirmed his spokesperson.
In a statement to PTI, the spokesperson said, “His father’s condition was very critical for the past few days.. And after hearing the news, Manoj has rushed to Delhi from Kerala, where he was shooting for his next project." He also added that his father got hospitalised in September and he was being treated for age-related illnesses.
The actor has also requested privacy for him and his family.
The funeral was held at New Delhi's Nigam Bodh ghat on Sunday afternoon. Heartfelt tributes and condolences have been pouring in on social media from Manoj’s near and dear ones. Filmmaker Avinash Das posted a picture of the actor with his father and penned a note saying that his father was a man of great endurance.

“I came from my village in Bihar to Delhi at the age of 18. I joined Delhi University. Finishing my graduation was my father's dream. He did not want me to leave studies. So I really wanted to fulfill his dream and somehow managed to complete the course and take a degree,” he was quoted as saying.
