Manoj Bajpayee Recalls It Took Him 8 Years After Satya’s Success To Buys His Own House; Says, ‘Films That I Was Doing, Were Not Paying Well’
Manoj Bajpayee opens up about doing movies that were satisfying him as an actor but weren’t paying him that well
Bollywood actor Manoj Bajpayee has made a name for himself with his versatile performances. Known to always keep to himself, he has very rarely opened up about his struggles and experiences. Having risen to fame with Ram Gopal Varma’s Satya (1998), despite making his debut in 1994, the actor recently opened up about being part of movies that were satisfying the actor within him but weren’t paying him well.
In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, he recalled how it took him almost seven-eight years after the success of Satya to buy his own house in Mumbai. Shedding light on it he said, “Films that I was doing, were not paying well. I was doing Satya, Shool, kaun, Zubeidaa, Aks or Dil Pe Mat Le Yaar or Pinjar or Road...These are not the films that make you a superstar.” ALSO READ: WHAT?! The 54-year-old actor told the entertainment portal how he wanted to be a part of the above-mentioned movies. While their budget wasn’t that great, it paid him a respectful amount. He explained how he did those movies because he wanted to be a part of it. They were “up my alley” and satisfied his hunger for acting. Manoj further added how he was able to buy his own house eight years after Satya released. ALSO READ: SHOCKING! He added, “One great thing that happened to me, which wasn't there pre-Satya. There was a car. But I loved it, I loved that freedom and enjoyed it. I feel burdened when my security person is moving with me on the streets.”
On the work front, Manoj Bajpayee was last seen in the Rahul V Chittella directorial Gulmohar which is streaming on Disney+ Hotstar. He has courtroom drama Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai, Kanu Bahl's Despatch and the third season of Raj and DK’s web-series The Family Man in his pipeline.
