Mannara Chopra Addresses SOUR Relationship Rumours With Cousins Priyanka, Parineeti; Bigg Boss 17 Fame Says, ‘They Would Have Called Me A Nepo Kid’
Actress Mannara Chopra became a fan favourite after her stint in the controversial reality show Bigg Boss season 17. From her camaraderie with Munawar Faruqui to her spats with Ankita Lokhande, she often made the headlines for standing up for herself. It was during her participation in the show, that she refused to talk about her cousins, actresses Priyanka Chopra and Parineeti Chopra, going as far as to fight with Abhishek when he compared her to the Ishaqzaade actress. However, it led to various rumours surfacing that all was not well between the cousins. Now, the Zid actress has addressed the rumours and stated that she didn’t want to be perceived as a ‘Nepo kid’.

Talking about the same, during an interveiw with Siddharth Kannan, Mannara opened up about the entire fiasco. She explained how if she had taken her family’s name in the reality show, “they would have called me a nepo kid.” People would have criticised her for not having a personality. She claimed that since she didn’t take their names, stories about their soured relationship surfaced. Chopra revealed that her relations are very sorted. She went on to explain the reason behind not mentioning her cousins’ names on national television. ALSO READ: CUTENESS ALERT! Quoted by News18, the 33-year-old actress went on to add, “I didn’t take their names because I really wanted people to see me and who I am, and I wanted to fight my own battle. When I walk into meetings and look tests, that is just me standing alone in those parameters. And after ‘Bigg Boss’, if people in the industry are talking to me, they are interacting with me because of the comfort which I am giving from my end also. Of course, they know I come from a certain family but it is also because of how I project myself. It is all about you at the end of the day. I avoided the names because I knew it was a personality show and I had to show my personality.” ALSO READ: Bigg Boss 17's Mannara Chopra Calls Akasa Air 'Worst Airline To Travel With' After Her Bag Gets Damaged By Staff - SEE TWEET

Mannara went on to heap praises on her older cousin Priyanka for being an inspiration. Tagging the Citadel actress as a ‘strong and independent woman,’ she explained how she always looked up to the latter while growing up. She added, “I looked up to her while growing up because I noticed how she could buy things on her own. She could stay in the best of the places, do whatever she wants, and rule the world according to her terms. That was something I imbibed from her.”

For those who don’t know, Mannara Chopra’s mother, Priyanka Chopra’s father, and Parineeti Chopra’s father are siblings. The cousins often get together and spend quality time with their extended families. It is to be noted that Parineeti chose to skip a few recent family celebrations, which gave more wind to the cousins not getting along well rumours.
