Mamata Kulkarni, to note, is still remembered for her role in Rakesh Roshan's 1995 reincarnation drama 'Karan Arjun' opposite Salman Khan. The film was rumoured to be ‘not a very happy experience for Kulkarni’, and an IANS report suggests that it was all because of Salman Khan -- who was apparently a little nasty towards her.
She also had another brief dalliance with fame in the Aamir Khan-starrer 'Baazi' and then she appeared in a string of forgettable films, slowly fading out. Mamta grabbed the headlines for her notoriety - doing a topless shoot for a film magazine and was then dropped out of the public eye in 2000.
On the personal front, Mamata Kulkarni was reportedly married to an Ahmedabad-born international drug lord Vicky Goswami who was arrested on several occasions in different countries. The actress came under the scanner of the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) when Vicky was arrested by the enforcement agency in 2016. Shortly after that, Mamata Kulkarni was also tagged as wanted by the DEA.
In 2019, Mamata was approached by the Bombay High Court to strike down the case against her. Later, she also requested the court to de-freeze her bank accounts and FDs and de-seal two of her flats in Mumbai's Andheri. Earlier this year, Mamata's plea was rejected by the court.
