Malaika Arora's Divorce Lawyer's Dog Kidnapped: Recounts The Horror, 'I Want Zomato To Own Up It Was Their Delivery Boy'
Malaika Arora's divorce lawyer Vandana Shana recounts a horrifying tale of her beagle getting kidnapped by a delivery boy she claims was working for Zomato
If you have a pet, your life starts revolving around him/her. And what if he gets kidnapped? Well, celebrity lawyer who represented Malaika Arora in her divorce from Arbaaz Khan, Vandana Shah's beagle got kidnapped the other day- and take my word, she didn't sleep a wink after that. Thankfully, the kidnapper was tracked down in few days. Shah recounts the horror that happened in Pune in an EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW:
We hear, your pet dog got kidnapped...
Yes, and it was done by a delivery guy Tushar from Zomato. Thankfully, we tracked him down after 2-3 days. He had kept his phone off. We spoke to some local delivery boys in my area and they said they had seen him with my dog.
After he switched on his phone, I think it was after 2 full days, I got a local delivery boy to talk to him. He admitted to him that he had taken the dog. He would have sold my pet and got at least 30K.
We had to tell him in no uncertain terms that we would make him go behind bars. Only then he realised that this was snowballing and he returned the dog. At the time of return too, he did not come forward. My dog, Dottu, was retrieved 60 km away from my house.
No. He had come to deliver something in a nearby building.
So, how are you sure that he's from Zomato?
I have made my inquiry and I do not wish to make it public now. I shall throw that in public domain at the right time.
Zomato has denied. They say that no such Tushar works for them...
Obviously they will deny, else it would be a PR disaster for them. I wish they own up.
Mind you, initially Zomato gave us only standard replies. It was only when the Twitter got louder on this kidnapping and Tushar's phone number was on social media that they reverted on public domain, disowning the guy.
Are you taking the case back?
No, I want him to be punished.
How's Dottu now?
He returned tearful and scared. We took him to a vet. Symptomatically, he's fine. But I am again taking him to a vet on Monday for a detailed check-up.
We are living in weird times. Today, it's a dog. Tomorrow, it could be an infant. And such things are continously happening, in fact, on the rise. Isn't it?
