Maharashtra Floods: Hrithik Roshan Is ‘Deeply Grieved’; Riteish-Genelia Deshmukh Donate 25 Lakh
As a few parts of Maharastra have been hit by severe floods, Bollywood celebs are making sure to do their bit. While Hrithik Roshan is ‘deeply grieved’ with the those affected, B-Town couple Riteish-Genelia Deshmukh has donated Rs 25 Lakh for Maharashtra Flood Relief.
The gigantic Koyna Dam, with its reservoir, spread across
890sqkm and a capacity of 100 TMC, was filled up by a half or more than 50 TMC
in only nine days this year. A staggering 3.78 lakh people have been shifted to
432 temporary relief camps set up by the Maharashtra government in flood-hit
areas like Sangli, Kolhapur, and Satara districts. We have been witnessing
daily visuals and coverage by news channel where our Army officers and
government officials are working tirelessly to help victims reach a safe zone
after being rescued. Many across India have poured their heart out and have
prayed for the safety of those affected by the floods. Our Bollywood
celebrities are also helping those in need monetarily.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has thanked the actor
couple of Riteish and Genelia Deshmukh for contributing Rs 25 lakh towards
Chief Minister Relief Fund for Maharashtra floods. Fadnavis tweeted a
photograph of the couple handing over the cheque to the minister. Fadnavis
wrote, “Thank you Riteish and Genelia Deshmukh for the contribution of Rs
25,00,000/- (Rs 25 lakh) towards CM Relief Fund for Maharashtra floods.” Bollywood
celebs have been taking to social media to grieve the loss caused by floods.
