It has begun and we are going to be with you, till it ends. Mumbai has gone to the polls and we all know how interesting and important are the 2019 elections. Since Mumbai is the hub of the entertainment industry, we won't be surprised if we see a large turnout of stars from Bollywood and Tellywood venturing out to exercise their constitutional right.
Frankly, Monday, April 29 is not a great day for any city/town in Maharashtra to go to the polls. Saturday and Sunday have been holidays, we don't expect too many people to be working today, and then we have May 1 day after tomorrow which again is a holiday. We hope that Mumbaikars, stars included, haven't trooped off outstation for holidays.
In Mumbai, from the actors, we have Urmila Matondkar pitted against a tough candidate Gaurav Shetty- but we hear Urmila is doing rather well in her campaigns. Somewhat linked to Bollywood since she is Sanjay Dutt's sister, we have Priya Dutt fighting Poonam Mahajan.
TV actors are also quite excited in Mumbai even though Smriti Irani (one of the first household names from Indian television) is contesting from not Mumbai but Amethi (against Rahul Gandhi). Shilpa Shinde and Arshi Khan did join politics in the last few months- but failed to get tickets from their High Command. Some of them had quite readily spoken to SpotboyE.com about their aspirations and frustrations- Shubhangi Atre, Divyanka Tripathi, Sudha Chandran to name a few.
It is wrong and senseless to inquire from anybody who he voted for. We have no right to ask that, not even to sway anybody in his decision. We strongly feel that the nation has decided whom to vote for.
