Lion Book Betting App Case: Sahil Khan Granted Bail After Court Says No Prima Facie Case Made Against The Actor- REPORTS
Bollywood actor Sahil Khan found himself in yet another legal trouble when the Bombay High Court rejected his bail in the Lion Book Betting App Case. He was arrested in the case in the last week of April for his association with the online betting app Lion Book which is allegedly linked to the Mahadev app.

Having risen to fame with projects like Style, Xcuse Me, Aladin, and Ramaa: The Saviour, he has now been granted bail by the session court. As reported by the Free Press Journal, the sessions court observed that prima facie no case was made out against him as he was granted bail earlier in July, however, the detailed order was made available on Tuesday. The media publication further reports that the agency claimed that the Lion Book app is similar to the Mahadev Book app, a subsidiary app of the latter, promoted by a Dubai-based businessman and hotelier Hitesh Khushalani in partnership with the 47-year-old actor. Defence lawyer, Rizwan Merchant, claimed that Sahil Khan is not the owner or a partner of the Lion Book betting app. Quoted by Free Press Journal, Merchant said in his argument, “Several Bollywood celebrities promoted the Lion Book website like the applicant but none other than the applicant came to be arrested in the subject crime.”


The media publication further reports that after hearing both sides, the court said that they would agree with the contention of Merchant that there is no material collected by the investigation agency against Khan to make a prima facie case of committing the offenses, alleged in the subject FIR/complaint.
