The makers of Laxmmi Bomb starrer Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani met on Sunday for a couple of hours, after director Raghava Lawrence stepped down. In the meeting, it was decided that a new director would be roped in soon
On Saturday, makers of Laxmmi Bomb released the first poster of the film starring Akshay Kumar. But things took unexpected turn, when director Raghava Lawrence stepped down from the project citing that the poster was released without his knowledge. Laxmmi Bomb, which also stars Kiara Advani opposite Kumar, is a remake of the Tamil flick, Kanchana and for those who don’t know, Lawrence is the creator of the Kanchana franchise.
Lawrence released a statement announcing that he’s quitting the film. And now, the update is that the team of Laxmmi Bomb are looking for a new director, for which, the team of the film met on Sunday evening, for around a couple of hours, reports Mumbai Mirror.
A source close to the development revealed to the tabloid, “Akshay has taken control of the project and met Shabina and Tusshar to decide the future course of action.” Reports also revealed that the trio even tried to convince Raghava to return, during the Sunday meeting, but then it was decided that a new director would be roped in.
Further when the source was asked if director’s sudden exit has put a financial strain on the film, the source said, “The second schedule is only in September and things will fall in place by then. Akshay has allotted bulk dates for a 40-day marathon shooting spell in Mumbai. With Raghava, there was a communication gap which was difficult to breach. So we have to take a decision on the new director soon.”
