Latest Update On Jiah Khan's Death: Mother Moves Supreme Court

Jiah Khan's death case has been going on since a really long time. First it was declared a suicide, and later claimed by her mother, Rabiya Khan, to be a murder. Various accusations have been levied on each other by both the parties involved, and the courts are yet to give a final verdict as to what actually happened on that fateful night. Here's the latest update on the case:

Jiah's mother has moved the Supreme Court. She has filed for a Special Leave Petition challenging Bombay High Court's order for further investigation into Jiah’s death case.

Couple of weeks back, Rabiya had challenged CBI's charge sheet terming the actress' death as suicide and not homicide, thus paving way for trial to commence against actor Sooraj Pancholi in the case. Unfortunately for her, the Bombay High Court had dismissed this plea as well.

For those who’ve come in late, Jiah was found hanging in her Juhu apartment on June 3, 2013. Her boyfriend Sooraj was charged with abatement to suicide under Section 306 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The actor, who made his B-Town debut with Hero (2015), had pleaded not guilty in the case.

Last year, Rabiya accused Sooraj of murdering Jiah. She has demanded that Sooraj be charged with murder, rape and illegal medical termination of pregnancy. In an exclusive interview to SpotboyE.com, Sooraj's mother Zarina Wahab came to his defence and said, “Doesn’t she (Jiah’s mother) fear God? Woh apni beti ki aatma ko dukh pahucha rahi hai. She is tarnishing the reputation of the man her daughter loved. The law will take its course. I have nothing more to say.”

Getting back to the current scenario, it will be interesting to see if the Supreme Court also dismisses Rabiya's pleas like the Bombay High Court, or will there be some new development?
