Late Veteran Star Zohra Sehgal Gets A Special Tribute From Google On The Anniversary Of The Release Of Her Film

Google keeps creating some amazing illustrative designs for those personalities who have done some extraordinary work in their life, in their memory. Well, speaking of which, the search engine once again created a special doodle for a late veteran actress Zohra Sehgal who has done some stellar work in her filmy career. Today is the anniversary of the release date of her 1946 film, Neecha Nagar and to mark this special day, Google paid a tribute to her by creating a special doodle for her. What makes this film even more special is because on this day, the film released at the Cannes International Film Festival.
The browser also consisted of a statement which mentioned the name of the artist who created this special doodle and the significance of her film, Neecha Nagar. The statement read, "Today’s Doodle, illustrated by guest artist Parvati Pillai, celebrates iconic Indian actress and dancer Zohra Segal, one of the country’s first female actors to truly achieve recognition on the international stage. Among Segal’s notable early work was a role in the film “Neecha Nagar” (“Lowly City”), which was released on this day in 1946 at the Cannes Film Festival. Widely considered Indian cinema’s first international critical success, “Neecha Nagar” won the festival's highest honor: the Palme d’Or prize."
Zohra Sehgal passed away at the age of 102 at her Delhi residence on July 10, 2014. She has done some notable films in the past. She has made appearances in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Cheeni Kum, Dil Se, Veer Zaara, Saawariya and quite a few films.
