Lata Mangeshkar Passes Away: PM Modi, President Kovind And Others Mourn The Sad Demise Of Legendary Singer- TRIBUTES Inside
Legendary singer and Bharat Ratna awardee Lata Mangeshkar left for her heavenly abode on Sunday morning. She passed away at the age of 92 at Breach Candy hospital in Mumbai. Mangeshkar, who was known as the ‘Queen of Melody’ and the ‘Nightingale of India,’ had tested positive for COVID-19 with mild symptoms on January 8 and was undergoing treatment at the hospital. The news of her tragic demise has sent shockwaves across the country. Heartfelt tributes have been pouring in for Lata Mangeshkar from all corners of the world.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to his Twitter handle to pay his last respects to the legendary singer. He shared his photos with Mangeshkar and said the veteran singer left a huge void in our nation that can never be filled.  

PM Modi tweeted, “I am anguished beyond words. The kind and caring Lata Didi has left us. She leaves a void in our nation that cannot be filled. The coming generations will remember her as a stalwart of Indian culture, whose melodious voice had an unparalleled ability to mesmerise people.”
In another follow-up tweet, Modi said, “Lata Didi’s songs brought out a variety of emotions. She closely witnessed the transitions of the Indian film world for decades. Beyond films, she was always passionate about India’s growth. She always wanted to see a strong and developed India.”










President Ram Nath Kovind tweeted, "Lata ji’s demise is heart-breaking for me, as it is for millions the world over. In her vast range of songs, rendering the essence and beauty of India, generations found expression of their inner-most emotions. A Bharat Ratna, Lata ji’s accomplishments will remain incomparable."

Vice President Venkaiah Naidu, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister of Finance Nirmala Sitharaman among others also mourned the sad demise of Lata Mangeshkar.
