Lara Dutta Replaces Nimrat Kaur In Azhar ?
Lara Dutta's career seems to have gotten a new lease of life what with top projects coming her way thick and fast. After bagging a pivotal part in Akshay Kumar's Singh Is Bling and an interesting role in Abhishek Kapoor's Aditya Roy Kapur-Katrina Kaif-starrer Fitoor, the actress is closing a deal with Ekta Kapoor for the upcoming biopic on former cricketer Mohammed Azharuddin.

Although a year away from release, the film has generated lots of buzz after the one-minute teaser which was launched last month featuring Emraan Hashmi who plays the title role. While Nargis Fakhri will essay the role of Azhar's second wife Sangeeta Bijlani, Nimrat Kaur (of The Lunchbox and Homeland fame) was supposed to play the role of a lawyer.

The actress opted out due to unknown reasons. But since the film goes on floors in July, the makers don't have much time to be involved in casting crisis and have promptly started negotiating with Lara, who's shown interest in the film and is likely to board the project soon.

"Lara has been given a narration and the deal should be sealed in a couple of weeks. It's a very strong role, one that fits her personality quite well. The modalities are currently being worked out. Once the remuneration is agreed upon, the project will move forward with her," a source told SpotboyE.com.

Also starring Prachi Desai in the role of Azhar's first wife, the film directed by Tony D'souza is slated for a summer 2016 release.
